Castle College
Castle College is a new higher education institution built from the ground up as part of the Redshift Education Group. We built the brand identity and website around two distinct programme audiences and a single purpose — moving every visitor toward an application.
The work
Challenge
Castle College arrived as an idea before it arrived as an institution. Part of the Redshift Education Group, it needed to be built from the ground up: not just a visual identity, but a complete understanding of what the organisation was, who it served, and how to communicate that clearly. The starting point was architecture, not aesthetics.
Process
The college offers programmes for two distinct audiences: students seeking structured pathways into UK universities, and educators looking for professional development in teaching, leadership, and specialist practice. These are different people with different needs, reading the same website. Getting that structure right was the first and most important decision, made before any design work began.
Solution
The logo emerged directly from the college's context. Castle College is based in Berkshire, within proximity of one of Britain's most recognised castles, and the mark draws on that heritage without resorting to cliché. The result is a brand that reads as premium and serious without looking like everything else in the sector.
Results
The website carries that identity through with purpose. Subtle animations and interactive elements give the experience a weight and intentionality that plain educational sites rarely have. Two clear programme pathways, Students and Educators, run through the entire structure. Every page is built to move a visitor toward one action: applying. The college now has a digital platform that matches the quality of the programmes it delivers.
